A few weeks ago, I started a new weekly theme: Sundays are for Sebastian. Sebastian is my four year old and he says some of the funniest things–we have no idea where he gets his material since his mother and I are rather boring, serious people. Nonetheless, here is another gem:
Sebastian loves games. Actually, he loves winning games; he is not a very good loser. In fact, he is not a very good winner either so we decided that we needed to start addressing these elements of his personality.
Sebastian: “I win, you lose!”
Me: “That’s not being a good winner. ”
Brief pause.
Seba: “I win.”
Another pause.
“You’re regular.”
Happy Sunday! I’ve nominated you for an award because I love your blog. Get the details here: http://sowsewso.com/2013/04/26/so-family-affair/

That’s perfect.
Okay, so I’m a sucker for cute kid anecdotes. Here’s mine: A long time ago in another life, when my son was four, when we walked outside on the first crisp autumn morning of the year (which to a 4-year-old is like the first crisp morning that ever occurred in the history of the world) he said, (breathing out all the vowels with deliberate accent), “Looook, M-ohhhhh-om, I-hhhhh-I’m ta-ahh-alking sm-ohhhhhh-oke.”
Cherish these times, next year (really, it will happen that quickly) Sebastian will be 30.
But I differ with your self-assessment. I hardly think you’re boring. And serious? Compared to a 4-year-old, perhaps.

Great one!
As for the time flies thing: I know, we already can’t believe our older just turned 10. We are loving every minute of it now, realizing that it certainly will change….
