Greetings From the West Coast

Happy April Fool’s Day everyone!

I am waking up to what promises to be a rather glorious day out here in sunny California after making the long trek from Philadelphia with my six-year old, Sebastian yesterday. I had planned on publishing the latest installment of the Ohmygod saga today since I had about six hours to work on it during the flight.

Well, that assumed that I would have been able to keep Sebastian occupied during the flight. My wife had apparently downloaded numerous videos to the iPad, but of course I was unable to locate them. Thus, I was forced to play countless games of war, crazy eights, and that connect-the-dot game (the one that where you try to make a square–does it have a name?).

So Ohmygod will have to wait a few days.

Sadly, I am no where near a beach....

Sadly, I am no where near a beach….

In the meantime, you can check out an article I wrote over at Wine.net about champagne being much more than a celebratory beverage. I recently did a bit part on my favorite bubbles for Michelle Williams on her Rockin Red Blog in a great collaboration piece she pulled together. (There is also an article for Snooth.com in the works, but that is not out just yet.)

That is all I have for you today–I am going to go hop on my bike….

About the drunken cyclist

I have been an occasional cycling tour guide in Europe for the past 20 years, visiting most of the wine regions of France. Through this "job" I developed a love for wine and the stories that often accompany the pulling of a cork. I live in Houston with my lovely wife and two wonderful sons.

it snowed here today and the wind blew several large trucks over on the roads but of course I’m not at all envious of all that warmth and sunshine – enjoy the trip 🙂

  7. Enjoy my friend, the west coast is just the best. I miss it every second I am not golfing and wine tasting up a storm there.
