Another Saturday, and another weekend away from home. I am no longer in Wine Country–this time I am in Michigan for less than ideal reasons (see number 4 below), but I do get a chance to see some family and hopefully a few old friends.
As has become somewhat of a norm on a Saturday morning, I do not have any “new” content, but I do have a several announcements.
#1: Monthly Wine Writing Challenge 16 (#MWWC16): The deadline for #MWWC16 is Monday, 4/20. The theme this month is “Finish” and all of the details can be found HERE. As far as I can tell, there has only been ONE submission thus far! I am not sure if I am going to be able to get a post up this time (See #4 below), but that is no excuse for you! Get thee to a keyboard post haste (or something like that)!
#2: Sip and Spin. I regularly teach Spinning classes in Philadelphia and once a month I host a Spinning class followed by a wine tasting. I am not sure about the theme yet, but the date is set: April 24th (Friday night) at 7:00. The class is already technically full, but shoot me an email if you are in Philly and interested, and I will try and squeeze you in.
#3: Wine Dinner at Fare. This month, the theme will be Loire Valley Varieties (Pinot Noir, Cabernet Franc, Sauvignon Blanc, Chenin Blanc), which will be paired with five courses (including dessert), all for $75 (including tax and tip). The dinner is being held on Wednesday, April 29th at 7:00. If you are interested, leave me a message on my Facebook page (FB Page) or send me an email (below).
#4: Wish Me Luck. By the time many of you read this, I will either be giving, or will have already given a eulogy for a very dear friend of mine. While I do not fear speaking in front of crowds (and I am anticipating a rather large turnout), this will be my first eulogy. I am just hoping and can keep it somewhat together.
I think that is all for this weekend.
