A Hectic Few Days

These last few days have been rather busy for me (with a bit more to go). Since Wednesday, I have hosted two wine dinners, conducted one wine tasting, attended a wine luncheon, coached four basketball games, and attended a champagne Oscars party. All this included a couple of trips to New York, several trophies, and countless bottles of wine.

Don’t get me wrong, I am not complaining, but I also realize that I am not quite as young as I used to be and I might need a bit of recovery time over the next few days. My lovely wife, however, says that is not going to happen as we are packing up most of the house this week and putting it in storage, so that the painters and stagers can prepare the house for selling.

So while I might prefer to take a few weekends off and either ride my bike or just relax, it does not look as though that is going to happen any time soon.

Hopefully, I will have a bit of time to sit down and write, but this week is lining up to be even more hectic, and a lot less fun.

Regardless, here are a few pictures from the last few days that were….

Wednesday was my monthly wine dinner at Fare, focusing on Greece.

I raced back to Philly on Friday to teach a Spinning class followed by a wine tasting (this photo is still from the Vins de Provence tasting, as you likely do not want to see any photos of sweaty people in lycra sipping wine).

Six hours of basketball on Saturday (this is a picture from the Palestra, which is not where I did my coaching).

About the drunken cyclist

I have been an occasional cycling tour guide in Europe for the past 20 years, visiting most of the wine regions of France. Through this "job" I developed a love for wine and the stories that often accompany the pulling of a cork. I live in Houston with my lovely wife and two wonderful sons.
