A little different SAFS today as I am happy to report that my eight-year-old has finally learned how to ride a bike! All the credit, however, goes to his older brother Nathan who encouraged him to get out and practice. Nathan did have an ulterior motive, however, since I told him that we would not get a dog until Sebastian was firmly on two wheels. The bad news is that Sebastian is actually allergic to dogs, so that presents a bit of an obstacle, but today, we celebrate!

Can you get a hypo-allergenic dog? Supposedly you can do that with cats, but I don’t know about dogs. Congrats to Sebastian!

Yeah, that is the aim right now. There are a lot more of them than I anticipated, though!

Alright! They have all kinds of “doodle” dogs (labradoodles, golden doodles, some smaller breed doodles, or just a plain old poodle) that are supposed to be hypoallergenic. And of course there is the Obama pick of Portuguese Water Dog. I expect to hear about a furry four legged friend joining your family in the near future. I’ll bet Nathan would love one as a Christmas present 😉

Really trying to avoid a “doodle.” Looking at a Wheaten or an Airdayle….

Both are really cool looking and I believe have good temperaments but Airedale would probably be easier to mange in the hair department.

I assumed his “anterior” motivation was that you were going to give him a swift kick if he didn’t get out there with wis brother.

Ha! I would like to blame that on spell check, but I can’t be sure!

Poodle or Peek-a-poo maybe?

Poodles are on the list, but I am pretty sure the Peek-a-poo is banned in Texas!

I have forgotten far more of my childhood than I can recall but I vividly remember the day I learned to ride a bike and the Christmas morning I got my first dog. I am sure that your boys will, too. 🙂

Yeah, not too much I remember either, but those are certainly on my list!
