Sundays Are For Sebastian—The Year in Review

Happy New Year!

I thought I would start 2017 (a year which, unfortunately, is a prime number—I don’t like prime numbers) with a look back at three of my favorite SAFS of 2016 (since three is also a prime number, which somehow creates balance)….

Sundays Are For Sebastian—#140

We had to go out to the mall today and decided to eat lunch while we were out there. We had decided on Shake Shack when we passed by Joe’s Crab Shack.

Me: “How about Joe’s Crab Shack? We have never eaten there. Anyone want to try it?”

Seba: “The food probably tastes like crap. Ha ha, get it?”

After a long pause, Nathan chimed in….

Nathan: “You know he said crab, right? With a “B”?”

Seba: “Oh. OK, never mind. It might be good.”

Sundays Are For Sebastian-#154

We were at the boys’ cousins’ house and Nathan and Sebastian were playing wiffle ball in the back yard.

After a few minutes, the two came in.

Me: “What happened?”

Nathan: “Sebastian hit the ball over the fence, so we can’t play anymore.”

After going outside and unsuccessfully looking for the ball in the neighbor’s yard I came back inside.

Me: “I could not find it, but that’s OK, we can go buy another.”

Nathan: “Yeah, and Sebastian can pay for it out of his allowance!”

Me: “Sebastian does not get an allowance.”

Sebastian jumped up, pointed at his brother, and screamed:

“Ha! Joke’s on you!”

Sundays Are For Sebastian-#166

Sebastian shows me about a third of his hamburger.

“Do you think I can shove this into my mouth?”

Me: “Probably, but I don’t want to see it.”

Seba: “Then turn your head.”

About the drunken cyclist

I have been an occasional cycling tour guide in Europe for the past 20 years, visiting most of the wine regions of France. Through this "job" I developed a love for wine and the stories that often accompany the pulling of a cork. I live in Houston with my lovely wife and two wonderful sons.
