#MWWC30 Time to vote!

wine-stain1-3It is time to vote!

The Remaining Timeline:

Voting Begins: Tuesday, January 24th, 2017 (Today!)

Voting Ends:  Monday, January 30th, 2017

Winner Announced:  Tuesday, January 31st, 2017

I have been sitting in this hotel bed in Sacramento since waking up at 4:40 a.m. trying to get internet access. I have to say that the whole Hilton Rewards is a royal pain in the rear–why can’t they just give free internet like everyone else without having to sign up for anything? Ugh. My email address is already out there enough. OK, I am done venting.

After a last-minute flurry, we made it to ten entries (plus one from the Epicurious Texan who entered even though she is not eligible, having won last month). I think this is the first time in a long time that we did not have any first-time entrants into the challenge. Perhaps the topic was too obscure (see what I did there?)? Regardless, have fun reading them all and be sure to vote! Please let me know if I neglected to include any posts, I was scrambling a bit trying to find them all….

Here are this month’s entries:

Appetite for Wine: The Value of Obscure

The Drunken Cyclist: Searching for Identity in Bottles of Wine

The Epicurious Texan: Obscure (ineligible)

Griffey on Wine: The Obscure Nature of Wine

JVB Uncorked: Locations Wines: Comparing California And France

Okie Wine Girl: Obscure Wine Drinkers

Oz’s Travels: Adelaide Hills Grüner Veltliner

The Swirling Dervish: Toiling Away….

Talk-a-Vino: Obscure: Oenophile’s Pleasure

Traveling Wine Chick: Obscurity Thwarted

The Wine Raconteur: Obscure

These have all been posted over on mwwcblog.wordpress.com as well, which is where you need to go to vote (you can press on the nifty “Vote” button below to go there):

About the drunken cyclist

I have been an occasional cycling tour guide in Europe for the past 20 years, visiting most of the wine regions of France. Through this "job" I developed a love for wine and the stories that often accompany the pulling of a cork. I live in Houston with my lovely wife and two wonderful sons.

    • Great! We would love to have you participate! The winner of this month’s challenge will be announced next Tuesday (January 31st) and he/she will choose the next theme, which I will hopefully announce the following Tuesday (February 7th). The deadline for entry will then be around four weeks after that. Please feel free to email me (jeff (at) thedrunkencyclist (dot) com) if you have any further questions (or you can post them here, of course!).

  4. Hey Jeff . . . just a head’s up . . . the link for The Wine Raconteur takes us to Griffy on Wine. I’ve read them all . . . now to decide. Cheers!
