Monthly Wine Writing Challenge #30–The Results

The results are in Since our last Monthly Wine Writing Challenge, it seems a lot has happened in the world and trying to keep up with it all has been fatiguing (at least for me). This perhaps explains why the voting this month was rather anemic—in fact, it was the lowest vote total since the inception of the Challenge several years ago. Should that be cause for alarm? Should that mean that heads need to roll?

Nah.

At least I hope not since I am really the only one who could get fired here and I would also have to do the firing.

So y’all are stuck with me (at least for now).

(I hope you all noticed the Southern contraction that I snuck in there—I have not actually uttered it aloud and have no plans to incorporate it into my daily lexicon, but I figured I needed to provide a modicum of effort to fit in down here.)

While the number of votes was relatively low, the result was clear-cut as the winner this month garnered more than double the number of votes of the second place finisher.

And who is that winner, you ask?

Good question….

Okie Wine Girl

This is the second month in a row that we have had a first time winner, and no doubt Allison is overcome with emotion and can barely speak, even to her dearest friends and family. Well, she does not have much time to bask in the glory of her victory as she now owns the right to come up with the theme for next month’s Challenge (which I hope to announce a week from today—hint, hint, Allison).*

So keep your eyes on this space and if you have been meaning to enter, but never have, this month is the time! For if an Okie from Muskogee can win….

(I am pretty sure that Allison is not from Muskogee, but I am a big Merle Haggard fan,** so I had to fit that in here.)

*She also gets the “privilege” of displaying this badge on her site if she so desires.
