Photos from the Andes

As many of you know, I have spent the last week in Chile and Argentina within just a few kilometers of the Andes Mountains. Our hosts, Montes and Kaiken Wines have shown us an incredible time with great food, culture, and of course, wines. Here are a few photos from the week thus far:

The week started in the seaside town of Zapalla.

Dinner right on the water with the dishes pulled right out of the water.

Fresh razor clams. Whoa.

We then drove across the Andes Mountains where I did some modeling.

The Andes are not lacking in incredible views.

Next it was onto Mendoza, Argentina., just across the Andes.

They say that wine flows in the fountains in Mendoza, but it sure didn’t taste like it.

We had a wine blending competition at Kaiken, which my team won no thanks to me.

About the drunken cyclist

I have been an occasional cycling tour guide in Europe for the past 20 years, visiting most of the wine regions of France. Through this "job" I developed a love for wine and the stories that often accompany the pulling of a cork. I live in Houston with my lovely wife and two wonderful sons.
