Sundays Are For Sebastian #187

IMPORTANT: Don’t forget to enter for a chance to win wine or a Cono Sur Cycling Jersey by texting today’s winner after the stage has finished to @ConoSurWines and @masi3v using the hashtag #TourDeBicicleta!

Sebastian is my eight-year old and he says some of the funniest things–we have no idea where he gets his material since his mother and I are rather boring, serious people.

My wife: “Seba, how did you get that black eye?”

Seba: “I have a black eye?!?”

With that he ran off to the bathroom mirror. After a few seconds he returned.

Seba: “Which eye is it?!?”

About the drunken cyclist

I have been an occasional cycling tour guide in Europe for the past 20 years, visiting most of the wine regions of France. Through this "job" I developed a love for wine and the stories that often accompany the pulling of a cork. I live in Houston with my lovely wife and two wonderful sons.

I finally “got” your 3 passions joke. I’m no mathematician either. That’s funny about your son. Sounds more functional than my fragmented family. My own is quite tragic, yet my brother Jeff is someone I’d still choose for a friend. He is a retired food science prof. I’ve always adored him and my mother, who passed away 15 yrs ago. Both were brilliant when I was a toddler. It’s hard watching Jeff deteriorate. He is 64yo and not doing so great. Jeff makes mistakes these days; is no longer a superman. Meanwhile, I’m finding new strength for myself. BTW, I apologize for using too many expletives. I need to write disclaimers before I publish. Have a pleasant Sunday. When we do meet up, better make the wine a couple of gallons: I am a heavyweight, ha-ha.

I make no bones about being a heavy drinker. My AST (dead liver enzymes) may be elevated and I may have edema, which are scary health issues; but still I choose to drink. Doctors can’t figure me out. Neither can I. I only know that life w/o booze wouldn’t be worth living. Freud quipped, “Is life worth living? Depends on the liver.” Ha-ha.
