Sundays Are For Sebastian #195

Sebastian is my nine-year old and he says some of the funniest things–we have no idea where he gets his material since his mother and I are rather boring, serious people.

This past week my wife and I celebrated our anniversary, which prompted a question from Sebastian….

Seba: “Why did you guys get married on October 20th?”

I then went into a rather long story about how it was the only Saturday in the Fall that year when neither my favorite football team nor my brother’s favorite team (he was my best man) were playing that day. And how it was the first time that had happened in about 50 years. I then explained how growing up in the mid-west, college football is close to a religion and it takes precedence over just about everything, including weddings.

I was about to explain the concept of “serendipity” when he interjected….

Seba (rather slyly): “Really? You sure it wasn’t because you really wanted to kiss and couldn’t wait?”

About the drunken cyclist

I have been an occasional cycling tour guide in Europe for the past 20 years, visiting most of the wine regions of France. Through this "job" I developed a love for wine and the stories that often accompany the pulling of a cork. I live in Houston with my lovely wife and two wonderful sons.

Hahahahaha! You really have to answer everything on their level!! I remember someone’s story about a kid asking about the birds and the bees, and the parent went on to explain sex, and then the kid said something a bird and a bee. Wish i could remember the story, but it was just like yours, although it’s funny he’s thinking about kissing! Watch out!!! Great photo, btw.
