Sebastian is my nine-year old and he says some of the funniest things–we have no idea where he gets his material since his mother and I are rather boring, serious people. This installment occurred a little more than a year ago.
The boys had spent the entire day bickering about a variety of topics and by the time dinner rolled around, both their mother and I had grown exasperated.
Me (to my wife): “Can you explain to me why we had children again?”
My wife shrugged her shoulders and cast me a wry smile, but before she could speak, Sebastian interjected.
“Because Mommy was pregnant!”

Tough to argue with it.

Every now and then I have a similar thought with the kids at school – why did I go into teaching again? Then one kid will say or do something that makes me remember.
