I find myself in Houston for the first time in a long time this weekend, but that will change in a few scant hours when I take off for Prague and the Czech Republic. I will be there for a few days and then Budapest for a few more before boarding the AmaLea with AmaWaterways for a seven-day cruise on the Danube. Yeah. Rough life, I know.
I hope to head out for a bike ride before my Uber to the airport, and I should pack something, but before all of that, here are a couple of reminders for you:
- This is the sixth year for the Secret Wino exchange. Similar to the “Secret Santa” concept where participants send a bottle of wine (or two) to another participant somewhere else in the country, while receiving wine from yet another. If you would like to participate, there is still time to enter. All the details are HERE.
- I will be in San Francisco in January for the Zinfandel Experience (ZinEx), and the kind people at ZAP (Zinfandel Advocates and Producers) have put together a great package for my readers to join me. You can get all the details HERE.
Have a Safe Saturday!
Travel safe and enjoy!

We loved Prague (there in late September) … I assume you’ll end in Budapest – and that place is grand! Enjoy AMA!

Excellent. I’ve heard good things about them. We haven’t done a river cruise … but we have one on the docket for 2019 … Avalon … Meet in Prague … bus to Reagensburg (I think) … then cruise almost to the Black Sea.
