As some of you may already know, I am in France this week, specifically in the Beaujolais region of central France. I will be writing much more about my trip soon, but here are a few pictures from the trip thus far….
Within minutes of arriving in Lyon, I had a salade lyonnaise in front of me. It was so enticing, that I dove straight in, forgetting to take the photo first.
Nothing gets me excited like a vintage bike, like this Peugeot from 1911.
The Basilica is incredible.
I found a few traboules (secret passageways used by silk traders during the Renaissance) including this one which includes the famous pink tower.
Georges Dubuf started his wine career by making Pouilly Fuissé. This Prestige cuvée was gorgeous.
Lyon at night is stunning.
Tasting through a dozen or so wines, seated next to M. Dubœuf was a little intimidating.
I count about twelve.
There is nothing like tasting wine in the cellar.
The Château des Capitains in Julienas proved to be a favorite.
Enough said.
The tiny town of Oingt has photo ops galore.
