2019 A to Z Wineworks Rosé Oregon: Retail $16. “Mostly Sangiovese.” Reddish pink and fruity and lush on the nose. The palate is also lovely, fruity (red berry), tart, a hint sweet. Nice. Excellent. 90-92 Points.

2018 ACORN Rosato Alegría Vineyards, Russian River Valley, CA: Retail $29. 41% Sangiovese, 30% Zinfandel, 15% Syrah, 11% Dolcetto, 10% Cabernet Franc, 3% Other. Reddish-pink, a bit dark. A bit vegetal. Nice flavors, good acidity, and a hint of tannin. My wife said it smells like left-over Chinese food, which I like. A lot. Excellent. 90-92 Points.

2018 Acquiesce Grenache Rosé, Lodi, CA: Retail $28. Cotton candy (light) pink. Rhubarb, really tart on the nose. Good fruit, but a bit lacking in acidity, still, a solid effort. Very Good to Excellent. 88-90 Points.

2019 Acquiesce Grenache Rosé, Lodi, CA: Retail $25. Darkest so far with just a hint of orange. A sweetness to the nose, more of a red berry jam than fresh fruit. Low acidity, but good fruit, and a lengthy finish that even includes some mocha. Nice (and even better on day 2). Excellent 90-92 Points.

2019 Adelsheim Pinot Noir Rosé, Willamette Valley, OR: Retail $28. Light pink. Mostly floral on the nose, and another decidedly joyous palate. Provençal in style, light, but layered with flavors, fantastic. Excellent. 91-93 Points.

2017 Alara Cellars Grenache Rosé, San Benito County, CA: Retail $25. Slight orange pale. Peachy on the nose. Tart, fruity, lovely. Excellent. 91-93 Points.

2017 Bella Grace Rosé, Amador County, CA: Retail $26. 60% Grenache, 40% Mourvèdre. Really pale in the glass almost white. Fruity and sweet on the nose: ripe pear and apple. More of a peach on the palate with vibrant acidity and an extremely long finish. Not a “typical” rosé in many ways, but fantastic. Excellent. 91-93 Points.

2018 Benovia Pinot Noir Rosé Russian River Valley, CA: Retail $32. Pale orange with slight pink. Sweet and voluptuous on the nose, ripe red fruit. Fruity, tart, balanced, lovely. Really nice. Whoa. Excellent to Outstanding. 92-94 Points.

2018 Bokisch Vineyards Rosado Terra Alta Vineyard Lodi, CA: Retail $18. 85% Garnacha; 15% Tempranillo Quite light with an orange tint in the glass with ripe strawberry and peach aromas. Another lovely wine on the palate with subtle fruit and considerable minerality. Excellent. 90-92 Points.

2019 Bokisch Vineyards Rosado Terra Alta Vineyard Lodi, CA: Retail $20. 44% Garnacha, 34% Graciano, 22% Tempranillo. Orange tint with an odd nose. Not sweet, perhaps savory? The palate is much better, a bit sweet with a little, but that odd nose… Very Good. 87-89 Points.

2018 Brooks Pinot Noir Rosé Willamette Valley, OR: Retail $22. Light pink with an orange tint. Sweet nose with honeysuckle and over-ripe cantaloupe. Fantastic on the palate with some chalk on the back end. Whoa. Lovely. Excellent to Outstanding. 92-94 Points.

2019 Brooks Pinot Noir Rosé Willamette Valley, Willamette Valley, OR: Retail $22. Light Cotton Candy pink. Strawberry and red rose. Lovely on the palate fruity tart, great depth. Whoa. Really fantastic. Excellent to Outstanding. 93-95 Points.

2019 Cambria Pinot Noir Rosé Julia’s Vineyard, Santa Maria Valley, CA: Retail $22. Light pink in color with a slight funkiness to it. Again, though, the palate is much better than the nose, even quite good. Very Good to Excellent. 88-90 Points.

2017 Canoe Ridge The Expedition, Columbia Valley, WA: Retail $16.  35% Syrah, 19% Roussanne, 18% Mourvèdre, 11% Cinsault, 10% Counoise, 7% Viognier. Light pink with a really muted nose; I can’t get much of anything here. Decent, but muted flavors (citrus, peach) on the palate as well, eventually, it came out of its slumber. Very Good to Excellent. 88-90 Points.

2019 Capture Rosé of Sangiovese, Sonoma County, CA: Retail $25. Almost clear with just a slight dash of pink. Tart nose of melon: both cantaloupe and watermelon. Subtle fruit and above-average tartness. Very Good to Excellent. 89-91 Points.

2019 Cattleya Alma de Cattleya Rosé of Pinot Noir, Sonoma County, CA: Retail $20. Light pink. Nice nose of red fruit and a few floral notes. A nice palate of fruit and acidity with one of the lengthier finishes thus far. Whoa. Maybe more. Oustanding. 94-96 Points.

2019 Copain Rosé Les Voisins, Anderson Valley, CA: Retail $32. 100% Pinot Noir. Lovely pink color. Strawberry and red flower. Good acidity, restrained fruit, a bit of spritz on the finish might cause some concern, but tasty nonetheless. Very Good to Excellent. 89-91 Points.

2019 Descendants Liegeois Dupont Le Rosé, Columbia Valley, WA: Retail $22. 69% Syrah, 16% Mourvèdre, 15% Counoise. Reddish-pink with cotton candy nose. Quite dry, particularly as compared to the last, but this is delightful: fruity, tart, balanced. Whoa. Excellent to Outstanding. 92-94 Points.

2018 Division Winemaking Company Gamay Noir Division-Villages, “L Avoiron”, Oregon: Retail $20. 100% Gamay. Light cotton candy. Muted fruit with white flowers. Nice tart palate, in balance. Provençal-style. Very Good to Excellent. 89-91 Points.

2019 Ehlers Estate Cabernet Franc Sylviane St. Helena, CA: Retail $32. 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Cabernet Franc. Rich pinkish-red color. Lovely nose of ripe red berry fruit. Tart, tangy, and tasty. Holy cow. Bursting with flavor and quite balanced. Lovely. Whoa. Outstanding. 93-95 Points.

2019 Erath Pinot Noir Rosé, Oregon: Retail $18. Medium pink with rich aromas of ripe strawberry and peach. Chalky and fruity on the palate, more of a classic provencal flavor profile. But good acidity and lengthy finish. Tasty. Excellent 90-92 Points.

2019 Ferrari-Carano Sangiovese Rosé, Dry Creek Valley, CA: Retail $15. Lightly reddish-pink. Good nose, the palate is on the fruity side so it comes off a tad sweet, but very nice. Excellent. 90-92 Points.

2019 Fields Family Wines La Vie, Lodi, CA: Retail $19. Variety unknown. Rich reddish-pink with an extremely sweet nose of cotton candy. Lacking fruit on the palate, quite mineral, even chalky. Relatively low acidity. Very Good to Excellent. 88-90 Points.

2018 Fullerton Wines Pinot Noir Rosé Three Otters, Oregon: Retail $20. 60% Pinot Noir, 40% Pinot Gris. Medium provençal pink and extremely floral: rose bush, lavender, potpourri. Amazing. The palate is another classic provençal. Excellent. 90-92 Points.

2019 Furioso Vineyards Pinot Noir Rosé, Willamette Valley, OR: Retail $32. Pinkish-orange but more pink with lovely red fruit on the nose. Tart, quite tart, but also fruity initially, but drops off a bit by the finish. Very Good to Excellent. 89-91 Points.

2019 Gran Moraine Pinot Noir Rosé of Pinot Noir, Yamhill-Carlton, Willamette Valley, OR: Retail $28. Classic pink with a rich nose and lovely fresh fruit. Tart, but not bracing. Good fruit and lengthy finish. Very Good to Excellent. 88-90 Points.

2019 Hightower Cellars Murray, Red Mountain, WA: Retail $18. 100% Syrah. Medium pink, with a bit of menthol on the nose. The palate is fruity and tart, but there is a medicinal aspect that seems out of place. Good to Very Good. 86-88 Points.

2018 Jason Stephens Winery Pixelated, California: Retail $18. 100% Sangiovese. Fairly dark reddish-orange. A nose of raspberry Kool-Aid. Pretty fresh and actually tasty on the palate, but still that raspberry kool-aid aspect. I didn’t want to like it but I do. A lot. Excellent. 90-92 Points.

2018 Kendall-Jackson Vintner’s Reserve, California: Retail $17. 82% Pinot Noir, 15% Syrah, 3% Grenache. Pale orange in the glass. Floral on the nose with some lemon. The palate is a bit soapy, but good acidity and subtle fruit. Very Good to Excellent. 89-91 Points.

2018 Klinker Brick Bricks & Roses, Lodi, CA: Retail $15. 41% Grenache, 35% Carignane, 12% Syrah, 12% Mourvèdre. Very pale in the glass, almost a white, even. Lovely on the nose with lighter fruit and even some sweetness and vanilla. Quite tart, with more citrus than red fruit on the palate. Very nice as well. Very Good to Excellent. 89-91 Points.

2019 Klinker Brick Bricks & Roses, Lodi, CA: Retail $16. 40% Grenache, 24% Mourvèdre, 18% Syrah, 18% Carignane. Provencal pink, with a peach seven-up aroma to it. Not a ton of fruit on the palate, but decent acidity. Very Good. 87-89 Points.

2018 Kokomo Grenache Rosé Pauline’s Vineyard, Dry Creek Valley, CA: Retail $26. Pale, with just a hint of color (orangish pink). Lovely nose, peachy strawberry. Tart and lovely on the palate with balance and fruit. Really nice. Excellent. 91-93 Points.

2018 Keller Estate Pinot Noir Rosé, Sonoma Coast, CA: Retail $35. Pale orange with a hint of pink. Sweet, ripe strawberry on the nose, even some honey. Tart and angular, with the fruit lacking a bit on the palate. Very Good to Excellent. 88-90 Points.

2018 La Crema Pinot Noir Rosé, Monterey, CA: Retail $25. Fairly light pink in the glass. Rather floral in the glass with a bit of minerality and another lovely wine on the palate. Fruity, well-balanced, and tart. Delightful. Excellent. 91-93 Points.

2019 Lange Pinot Noir, Willamette Valley, Dundee Hills, OR: Retail $28. Bright translucent red, fruity and floral. Pedroncelli? Fruity and fun on the palate with a bit of sweetness. Good. Very Good to Excellent. 88-90 Points.

2018 Lazy Creek Vineyards Pinot Noir Rosé of Pinot Noir, Anderson Valley, CA: Retail $17. Medium-orangish pink, strawberry, and cherry on the nose. Fruity and sweet on the palate, but with good acidity and pretty good balance. Excellent. 90-92 Points.

2018 Long Meadow Ranch Pinot Noir Rosé, Anderson Valley, CA: Retail $25. Pale, really pale, barely even “orange.” Fruity in the glass and really tart on the palate. A classic Provençal style. Tart, lovely. Excellent. 90-92 Points.

2019 Long Meadow Ranch Pinot Noir Rosé, Anderson Valley: Retail $25. Provencal light pink. Savory on the nose, with some strawberry and rhubarb. Tart, decent fruit, balanced. Nice. Excellent. 90-92 Points.

2019 Lucas & Lewellen Pinot Noir Rosé, Santa Barbara County, CA: Retail $22. Cotton candy pink. Rich fruit, a bit floral, nice nose. Lovely. Fruity, tart, a hint of sweetness. Fantastic. Excellent to Outstanding. 92-94 Points.

2019 Lucia Pinot Noir Lucy Rosé, Santa Lucia Highlands, CA: Retail $22. Pinkish orange. A bit funky on the nose, fruity with some of that funk on the palate and just a kiss of sweetness on the finish. Very Good to Excellent. 89-91 Points.

2019 Malene Wines Rosé, Central Coast, CA: Retail $22. 48% Grenache, 23% Mourvèdre 12% Rolle, 17% Cinsault. Cotton candy pale pink. Lovely fruit on the palate, balanced acidity. A delight. Excellent. 91-93 Points.

2018 McCay Cellars Grenache Rosé, Lodi, CA: Retail $24. There was something off with this bottle. Not corked, but certainly not where it should be. Unrated.

2019 McCay Cellars Carignane Rosé, Lodi, CA: Retail $24. Classic pink in the glass with quite ripe fruit on the nose. Fruity, rich, even a bit sweet on the palate, but lacking a bit in tartness. Very Good to Excellent. 88-90 Points.

2019 McCay Cellars Cinsault Rosé, Lodi, CA: Retail $24. Reddish pink with a really rich, fruity, sweet nose. Intense fruit with some tannins, could use a bit of acidity, but this is very nice. Excellent. 90-92 Points.

2019 McCay Cellars Grenache Rosé, Lodi, CA: Retail $24. Pinkish orange hue. Strawberry with a touch of rhubarb and minerality. Great tartness, a bit of flintiness, and a touch of funk on the palate. Quite good. Excellent 90-92 Points.

2018 McIntyre Vineyards Estate Rosé of Pinot Noir, Santa Lucia Highlands, CA: Retail $24. Fairly standard color with a bit of a dirty nose, with fruit struggling to get through. The palate is nice, tart, and clean, but light in fruit. Very Good. 87-89 Points.

2018 Michael-David Vineyards Cinsault Bechthold Vineyard, Lodi, CA: Retail $19. Part Saignée. Classic pink hue. Exotic type aromas: mango, papaya. Rich, almost syrupy on the palate with intense fruit, almost medicinal. Good to Very Good, 86-88 Points.

2019 Montinore Estate Pinot Noir Rosé, Willamette Valley, OR: Retail $20. Light pink in the glass. Floral and slightly fruity on the nose with subtle fruit and great tartness on the palate. Very nice, classic provençal style. Excellent. 91-93 Points.

2018 Moshin Vineyards Pinot Noir Rosé, Russian River Valley, CA: Retail $25. Pale pink with a bit of orange. Sweet and fruity on the nose (strawberry). Fruity, almost Kool-Aid kinda sweet. The acidity tries to catch up but doesn’t quite make it. Very Good. 87-89 Points.

2018 Murphy-Goode Rosé, California: Retail $14. 81% Pinot Noir, 17% Syrah, 2% Grenache. Pale orange in the glass. Fruity on the palate, but a tad light in acidity initially, but comes through on the finish along with some minerality. Yum. Very Good to Excellent. 89-91 Points.

2018 Oak Farm Vineyards Rosé, Mokelumne River, Lodi, CA: Retail $26. Saignée of 65% Sangiovese, 35% Barbera. Really light pink with a touch of orange. Fruity, but lacking some acidity and a tad sweet for me, still, yum. Very Good to Excellent. 88-90 Points.

2019 Oak Farm Vineyards Estate Grown, Mokelumne River, Lodi, CA: Retail $26. 65% Sangiovese, 35% Barbera. Really light pink in the glass with plenty of melon and strawberry. Fruit, but subtle on the palate, quite lovely. Excellent. 90-92 Points.

2018 Passaggio Aglianico Heringer Estates, Clarksburg, CA: Retail $32. Really pale, almost white. Quite floral, almost no fruit on the nose. Great acidity, but a bit lacking in fruit. Still, a lovely quaff. Very Good to Excellent. 89-91 Points.

2018 Passaggio Tempranillo, Yolo County, CA: Retail $28. Light orange, some pink. A bit funky and savory on the nose. Tart and delicious on the palate with some peach. Lengthy finish. Very Good to Excellent. 89-91 Points.

2018 Pedroncelli Dry Rosé of Zinfandel Dry Creek Valley, Dry Creek Valley, CA: Retail $15. Orangish-red, slightly dark with quite a funky smell on the nose. The palate has a bit of funk to it but is otherwise pleasant. I can’t place it. Very Good. 87-89 Points.

2019 Pedroncelli Dry Rosé of Zinfandel Dry Creek Valley, Dry Creek Valley, CA: Retail $15. Medium reddish-pink. Muted nose, OK palate, but really nothing to distinguish it. Fine, but… Very Good. 87-89 Points.

2018 Peltier Pinot Noir Rosé of Pinot Noir, Lodi, CA: Retail $26. Provençal pink. Cotton candy on the nose. Great tartness, decent fruit, and balance. Good. Very Good to Excellent. 89-91 Points.

2019 Peltier Rouge Rosé, Lodi, CA: Retail $20. 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. Medium pink with an orange tint. Hints of strawberry and cherry. A bit spritzy on the palate, fruity, tart. But that spritz. Very Good to Excellent. 89-91 Points.

2019 Purple Star Rosé, Columbia Valley, WA: Retail $18. 70% Mourvedre, 30% Syrah. Medium pink with slight orange. Savory on the nose and the palate with some subtle fruit notes. Good to Very Good. 86-88 Points.

2019 Raeburn Rosé, Russian River Valley, CA: Retail $20. “Pinot Noir, Grenache and other red varietals [sic].” Really light. Just a flash of orange. Sweet and floral on the nose. Lovely. Close to a whoa. Nah, I’ll give it one. Fruity, tart, good finish. Yep. Whoa. Excellent to Outstanding. 92-94 Points.

2019 Raptor Ridge Pinot Noir Rosé, Willamette Valley, OR: Retail $30. Medium pink color. Strawberry, rhubarb, a bit sweet. The palate is fairly fruity, but also a bit flabby. Good, but not stellar. Very Good, 87-89 Points.

2019 Reddy Vineyards Rosé Blocks 5 & 18, Texas High Plains, TX: Retail $25. 73% Cinsault, 19% Mourvèdre, 8% Merlot. Light orangish-pink with aromas reminiscent of a Christmas candle. Fruity, but a bit flabby. Good flavors but needs some tartness. Very Good. 87-89 Points.

2017 Ripe Life Wines The Clambake Rosé, Mendocino County, CA: Retail $19. 100% Carignan. Fairly dark with a bit of strawberry jolly rancher on the nose. Not very fruity on the palate, but a quick shot of acidity before the finish. Very Good to Excellent. 88-90 Points.

2018 Rodney Strong Pinot Noir Rosé, Sonoma County, CA: Retail $25. Pale with a hint of orangish pink. Muted nose. Fruity, tart, balanced. Lovely. Excellent. 91-93 Points.

2019 Saffron Fields Vineyard Pinot Noir Rosé, Willamette Valley, OR: Retail $30. Dark, really close to red. Sweet on the nose, really sweet red fruit. The palate has huge fruit and even a bit tannic but needs some acidity. Some astringency on the finish. Very Good. 87-89 Points.

2018 St. Amant Winery Touriga Nacional, Lodi, CA: Retail $18. Corked, unfortunately, as this is one of my favorite producers in Lodi. Oh well, it happens. Screwcap Stuart? Not Rated.

2018 Tongue Dancer Pinot Noir Rosé, Sonoma County, CA: Retail $25. Saignée of Pinot Noir. Medium pink. Floral nose but fruity palate with tartness and good balance. A Watermelon Jolly Rancher aspect, but I really like it. Excellent. 90-92 Points.

2019 Tongue Dancer Pinot Noir Rosé, Sonoma County, CA: Retail $28. Saignée. Fairly dark in the glass with rhubarb and sweet watermelon. Quite fruity on the palate and very vinous with a touch of savory. Big and rich for a rosé. Yum. Excellent to Outstanding. 92-94 Points.

2018 Torii Mor Pinot Noir Rosé, Willamette Valley, OR: Retail $20. Light pinkish-orange. Somewhat fruity on the nose and palate, but needs a good dose of acidity. Very Good to Excellent. 88-90 Points.

2018 Tres Sabores Ingrid & Julia Rosé, Napa Valley, CA: Retail $30. Zinfandel and Petite Sirah. More orange than pink with a sweet nose of strawberry and cherry. Another winner on the palate with good fruit, minerality, and a tad chalky. Excellent. 90-92 Points.

2019 Troon Vineyard Kubli Bench Rosé, Applegate Valley, OR: Retail $25. 60% Tinta Roriz, 35% Primitivo, and 5% Grenache. Barely any color, maybe a slight pinkish-orange. Fruity nose with a hint of acacia flower. Fruity, tart, balanced. Lovely and this one gets a Whoa. Excellent to Outstanding. 92-94 Points.

2019 WillaKenzie Estate Rosé, Willamette Valley, OR: Retail $28. 100% Pinot Noir. Light cotton candy pink. Luscious red fruit with some peach. Tartness a go-go with a chalky finish. More fruit here as well. Yowza. Excellent. 91-93 Points.

2019 Winderlea Pinot Noir Rosé, Dundee Hills, Willamette Valley, OR: Retail $35. Bubblegum pink. But a bit of a muted nose. Subtlety continues on the palate with the fruit remaining shy until the finish. Near perfect level of acidity. Close to a Whoa. Excellent. 91-93 Points.

2019 Yamhill Valley Vineyards Rosé of Pinot Noir Estate, Willamette Valley, McMinnville, OR: Retail $18. Darkish cotton candy with an odd nose: savory and dill pickle even. Tangy, tart, and a bit of that savory aspect on the palate. Odd, but I think I like it. Very Good to Excellent. 88-90 Points.
