I have two quick reminders to send your way:
Reminder #1: Today is technically the last day to get your entry in for the Monthly Wine Writing Challenge (#MWWC12). You actually have until about 8:00 a.m. East Coast US time to get it in as I will be putting the voting poll together at that time. given that there are currently only nine entries, I am toying with the idea of extending the entry deadline a few days (to give you some perspective, we have been typically getting 15-20 entries per contest).
We have yet to hear from some MWWC stalwarts: binNotes, Cheap Wine Curious, Confessions of a Wine Geek, The Drunken Cyclist, Duff’s Wine, Food Wine Click, From Vinho Verde to Barolo with Love, Oenophilogical, Please Bring Me My Wine, renenutet13, Rockin Red Blog, Talk-a-Vino, The Wine Raconteur, Wine Ramblings

Reminder #2: Last week, I presented a different take on the Secret Santa concept, known as the Secret Wino. Last year, there were around 15 people who participated, and I think pretty much everyone enjoyed it. This year, based on the requests to do it again (and a bit more readership of my blog), I anticipated that there would be a lot more interest (and therefore a bit more work organizing it), but that has yet to occur. Thus far, there are a whopping FOUR people that have emailed me (see below) to participate:

Ok, Ok, Ok! I’ve been on deadline for a presentation I’m giving in NYC Thur – argh – so painful. But have the whole “local” story in my head….time to dump – may not be pretty – but should be pretty interesting – in a good but more likely bad way…. 😉 An extension is not a horrible idea – but I think I can get you something by stroke of midnight like last time – I roll like that….just ask the sponsors of this conference presentation…oy vey.

I would love to participate in the Secret Santa idea, as I’ve done those in the past (albeit not wine-centric.) However, being in the middle of closing on a house and having to move again, I’m afraid it is not in the cards this year. Maybe next year!
