Another trip to the PLCB

I found myself in the state monopoly wine store (PLCB) again the other day.  I told my wife that I really did not know how that keeps happening.  She said that I am full of ‘something’ and she used a word that no one would ever believe my wife would say.  But she did, trust me. She did.  I am the victim here.

Well, anywho, I found myself in the store as they were putting out on the floor a wine that I was looking for a couple of weeks ago.  They also had it two weeks ago when I was there, but no one in the store had a clue that they had it (not to mention where it was)–even after I pointed out to them on their own system.  Who says the state shouldn’t be running the sale and distribution of wine?

2010 Seigneurie de Peyrat Classique Blanc  Tasted 3/4/12.  Retail ??  I paid $7.99 plus tax.  Grapefruit explodes on the nose with a bit of chalk. On the palate quite acidic with tart grapefruit all over the place and that hint of chalk. Good finish. Great with a big bowl of mussels or on a hot afternoon patio. A bargain. Very Good.  87 points.

About the drunken cyclist

I have been an occasional cycling tour guide in Europe for the past 20 years, visiting most of the wine regions of France. Through this "job" I developed a love for wine and the stories that often accompany the pulling of a cork. I live in Houston with my lovely wife and two wonderful sons.
