A reader of this blog the other day informed me that none of the wines that I had listed on the “PLCB Wines” page were available from the PLCB. He did not say it, but he might as well have stated: “That makes the page rather worthless, doesn’t it?”
While I used to go into the PLCB stores with some regularity, I simply do not purchase much wine from there these days. There is an occasional wine, however, that comes through the system that seems as though it might be worth taking a flyer on. I have been informing some of my readers that live in PA about these wines on an Ad Hoc basis, since I am frequently asked what they should buy (often as they are in the actual store in a state of panic).
With that in mind, on the “PLCB Wines” page that can be easily accessed through the menu at the top of every page, I will include a list of wines that I have not tried (unless otherwise indicated), but I probably would buy if my wife would let me I found myself in a PLCB store, looking for some wine.
All the wines in this section will be at or under $20 (with the occasional exceptional deal over $20) and more or less widely available in Philly and/or Pittsburgh (with links to the PLCB website, which is actually rather good when it comes to inventory).
Those readers in the Commonwealth, be sure to let me know what you think.
