As some of you may know, for the past few months (we are up to seven now), there has been a little event that we like to call the “Monthly Wine Writing Challenge”. We started it to promote creative wine writing and to highlight some of the really outstanding wine (and other) blogs. (I just realized that a “challenge” that was created to inspire more “creative” writing has a rather unimaginative title–but that is beside the point).
This month, the Challenge was hosted by last week’s winner, the SAHMmelier, who also chose “Devotion” as the theme. The deadline for submitting entries to this month was this past Monday, which is the day that I submitted my entry, naturally (I was never one for turning in work early while in school–in fact I kind of despised those types of people, but I have since gotten over it).
Voting for the challenge is now open, over at SAHMmelier.wordpress.com so you should go over there and vote for your favorite post (hint). There were a bunch of entries this time around, so you want to make sure and scroll down to the bottom of the poll to make sure you see all those that entered (bigger hint). The fifth from the bottom (MWWC Devotion by Drunken Cyclist–really big hint) was my own entry into the challenge.
I had a lot of fun with this month’s challenge, which caused me to depart from my normal style of writing and try out a new genre (I am not sure what that genre is, and I am afraid to ask for input). So even if you do not vote for me, you should go over and check out some of the other entries. If you did not enter this go around, you really must enter next month–there is no cost (other than igniting your creative energy), and there is no prize (other than having a wider audience for your work–and being exposed to some interesting blogs). So what do you have to lose?

Great to see so many entries – had fun reading through them all.
