About a year ago, I started a new weekly theme: Sundays Are For Sebastian. Sebastian is my five-year old and he says some of the funniest things–we have no idea where he gets his material since his mother and I are rather boring, serious people.
Here is another one that comes from a little over a year ago, when he was still four:
Driving home from school, my wife asked Sebastian about his playmates at school and he mentioned a name that she did not recognize.
‘What does he look like?’, she asked.
Sebastian: “He has a blue shirt.”
So my other son chimed in to help: “Does he have white or brown skin?’
Sebastian: ‘White, I mean brown, I mean…. let’s just call it gray.’

This is great ! I have a blended family and we have white, light brown, brown, but no gray. the level of brown sometimes depends on the sunshine

He says some of his funniest one liners when he is under duress. I thought this was particularly good since he is of mixed ethnicity as well….

LOL – I prefer caramel. That is what the guys at school used to call me when they were not calling me gray.

If I say “caramel” he will inevitably think of the candy and we would not be able to talk about anything else…
