Monthly Wine Writing Challenge #23–The Results

The results are in It is that time once again, time to announce the results of this month’s Monthly Wine Writing Challenge. In all this month, there were 18 eligible entries for the theme “New” which was supplied by last month’s winner, Chad of (Un)Common Grape.

The number of entries represented the third highest number in the two-year history of the challenge, but there were only three Challenges with lower total number of votes cast (can you tell I am a bit of a stats geek?). While I can’t really explain the lower number of votes, it is certainly encouraging to see the number of entries rise as well as the number of first time entrants.

I know you really do not care about any of that, what you really want to know is who won.

So without any further ado…

The Drunken Cyclist.

I know what you are thinking: FIXED!

Well, if I were in your position, I would think the same thing (maybe), but consider this: I did not write the post, the actual winner of this week’s Challenge is The Drunken Cyclist contributor, Ted Slack. While I really hoped that I would never win the Challenge again, I am thrilled that my cycling and drinking buddy Ted won this go around. Ted recently retired (I think his last day at work might even be this week) and we were all worried about how he would spend his free time. Hopefully, this will encourage him to write a bit more!

As winner of the Challenge, Ted is now responsible for choosing next month’s theme, so I will hound him over the next few days so that I can publish the new theme in a timely fashion.

So, one more time: Congratulations Ted!
