The last few days, I have been out in Healdsburg, hosted by Rodney Strong.

We started with a tour and tasting led by Ron Washam, the Hosemaster of Wine.

Almost a decade ago, Rodney Strong acquired the legendary brand, Davis Bynum, some of the best Chardonnay and Pinot Noir in the Valley.

Dinners meant a lot of great food….

…and a lot of great wine.

A trip up to Rockaway Vineyard, to taste some Rodney Strong Rockaway.

Trying to get creative in the vineyard.

Alisa May of Rodney Strong, bringing us another bottle of Rockaway.

I was not alone, of course, here with Carol Jones (allmommywants.com), Jana Seitzer (merlotmommy.com), and Sara Lehman (somminthecity.com).

One of the best rosés I have had in a while.

The focus of the weekend was the “Master Blender” competition where we were charged with making the best Bordeaux style blend.

The blends were judged by Tom Klein, owner of Rodney Strong.

I did not win–the victory went to Carol Jones, here photo-bombing my selfie at Rockaway.

In all, a great couple of days at the winery….

Photojournalism at its best! Looks like a good time 🙂
