By the time that most of you read this, I will hopefully be well on my way to riding the 150 miles between Houston and Austin. The ride starts at the utterly stupid hour of 6:45 a.m. and involves a good drive to get there. So, I am going to be grumpy right when you read this sentence. I am also slated to spend the night in some large tent in some godforsaken field about half-way between the two cities, which will no doubt bring me unbridled joy.
So yeah, I am all fired up.
Nonetheless, my faithful readers, I do have a few reminders for you
- As I mentioned, I am currently riding my bike to raise money for Multiple Sclerosis as you read these words. Nonetheless, I believe you can still donate to support the hell I am experiencing right now. Can you drop a few Washingtons to support my ride? If only a third of you donated at least a buck, I would raise close to five whole dollars, which could make a difference. Seriously, though, if you can spare some change, please click on the graphic below. Every dollar counts!
- The voting for the latest Monthly Wine Writing Challenge is underway, and I am trailing badly. By. A. Lot. But that is not the point—the point is to read all the entries (there are some really great ones this time) and vote for your preference (and if that happened to be me, well, oh never mind). The list of entries is HERE and the voting takes place HERE.

- The next #ConoSurWineTalk is Wednesday, May 10th and the focus will be on Wednesday May 10th (7 p.m. GMT) and the focus will be on New World Cabernet! I will be there, fo’ sho’ (I am pretty sure, at least)!

- Last. I head off to San Luis Obispo this week and if any of you out there are in the area and want to either grab a glass of wine or go out for a bike ride, please let me know!
Have a Happy Saturday!

Bon courage as you make your way to Austin. And thank you for supporting the MS community – we sure do appreciate you! P.S. don’t worry about the tent. It won’t be as bad as you’re imagining.

The tent was bad before the first major thunderstorm. Yes, I said “first” (there were two).

Boohoo- I had a half marathon start at 5 a.m. And the 39.3 mile Avon walk for breast cancer I’m doing has a start time of 6:30 a.m. and camping in pink tents overnight
(but in admittedly beautiful Corte Madera). This year, though, I’m punking out on the tents and staying in a hotel. Already proved I am a badass haha!

If I do it next year, it will be in a hotel. I lost count of how many people were snoring around me at ten. As in people, not o’clock.
