Sebastian is my nine-year old and he says some of the funniest things–we have no idea where he gets his material since his mother and I are rather boring, serious people. This installment occurred a little more than a year ago.
Sebastian over the last year, much to our delight, has really taken off as a reader—to the point that he will even take a book with him to restaurants. Overjoyed, one night my wife offered to buy him the next Diary of a Wimpy Kid book that he really enjoys reading.
My wife: “Do you know how much it costs?”
Seba: “Nope.”
My wife: “OK, here. Use my phone and look it up on Amazon.com.”
A few moments later….
Seba: “It’s $8.97 for the hard cover…and $5.98 for the squishy cover.”

Awesome! My daughter takes books into the grocery store. I used to push her in the big part of the cart while she read. Now she’s too big to get in the cart, so she has learned the art of reading and not walking into things.
