Powerless

As many of you no doubt have heard, Texas is in the throes of its worst winter storm in some time. It is certainly the worst we have seen since moving here.

It is currently in the mid-teens with intermittent snow/ice coming down. To make matters more interesting, we lost power at about 2:15 this morning and have no idea when it might be restored. As a result, we have no heat or running water.

My phone is losing charge and the internet I can access through it is really slow. So yeah, 2021 is off to a great start.

I will be back with an update, assuming I can save some charge on my phone!

About the drunken cyclist

I have been an occasional cycling tour guide in Europe for the past 20 years, visiting most of the wine regions of France. Through this "job" I developed a love for wine and the stories that often accompany the pulling of a cork. I live in Houston with my lovely wife and two wonderful sons.

  1. I am sorry about your power. Please stay safe and as warm as possible. This is crazy weather. In my entire life I have not experienced this in Texas.

Good luck to the four of you… I trust your corkscrew does not require artificial power…? Stay safe!
