Sundays Are For Sebastian #391

Sebastian is our sixteen-year-old son and he says some of the funniest things–we have no idea where he gets his material since his mother and I are rather boring, serious people.

Not too long ago as we were driving to basketball practice (Sebastian started as a sophomore on his high school’s Varsity basketball team)…

Me: “What is the diameter of a basketball hoop?”

Sebastian: “62.”

Me: “Um? Huh?”

Seba: “62.”

Me: “62 what??”

Seba: “Just 62.”

Me: “You’re kidding. 62 what?”

Seba: “Inches?”

Me: “You know that is over five feet, right?”

Seba: “Wait, it is?”

As I type this, my son is up in Washington, at basketball camp.

About the drunken cyclist

I have been an occasional cycling tour guide in Europe for the past 20 years, visiting most of the wine regions of France. Through this "job" I developed a love for wine and the stories that often accompany the pulling of a cork. I live in Houston with my lovely wife and two wonderful sons.
