The last few months have been crazy for me. I have visited a half-dozen (or so) colleges the West Coast with my son, conducted a tasting for 90 people here in Houston, then another tasting for 45 in Dallas, four days in Cleveland for my son’s college graduation, then was off to Italy for three weeks immediately after, off to Austin for a long weekend with my wife, four days in San Diego judging at a wine competition, went to the airport to go to Minneapolis (another college visit) only to have the flight cancelled (after waiting three hours in the airport), a weekend in San Antonio (college visit), and just got back yesterday after two weeks in Slovenia.
Phew.
During that time, I forgot to mention the publication of my July article in Spring Branch Plus Magazine, which enumerated the four wines I have cold and at the ready at all times during the Houston summer.
Here is the link to July issue of Spring Branch Plus. And here is a screenshot of my article (pages 20-21). Click on it to be taken directly there:
Just a few days ago, my August article in the same magazine was published (pages 20-21), with the focus this time on a few places I would go to escape the heat of a Houston summer (again, click on the screenshot to be taken to the issue):

One last thing, and this comes from the shameless self-aggrandizing department. Recently, the publisher of Spring Branch Plus shared with me a note that she had received from one of its readers, and it made my day:
That’s it for today. I need to go ice my shoulder now, all this patting on the back has taken its toll.
