Sebastian is our fifteen-year-old son and he says some of the funniest things–we have no idea where he gets his material since his mother and I are rather boring, serious people.
It is now basketball season and Sebastian is a starter on his high school’s varsity team. This past week, we played a visiting team from Australia who was making its way across the U.S.
Sebastian: “Ho can they come over here and play basketball for three weeks?”
Me: “What do you mean?”
Seba: “Like, don’t they have to go to school?”
Me: “It’s their summer vacation.”
Seba: “Huh?”
Me: “You do know that it is now summer in the Southern Hemisphere, right?”
Seba: “Oh yeah, right. I knew that.”
Me: “Uh huh.”
Seba: “But why can’t they just take their summer vacation during the winter then?”
Me: “OK. I think we are done here.”
