Dinard, France

Sitting on the terrace in Dinard, France with some sparkling Vouvray. The wife is putting the kids to bed and then we will go down to a seafood dinner at the hotel, watching the tide come in.

Chateau Moncontour Vouvray Brut: I paid 8 Euros. Moncontour is a place I have visited several times in the past. A nose of peach and a bit of walnut. Bright and acidic, and completely dry. Medium finish. Very Good. 87 points. If you include the setting: 94 points.

Before you call Child Protective Services. We have a baby monitor all set up. It might even work.

About the drunken cyclist

I have been an occasional cycling tour guide in Europe for the past 20 years, visiting most of the wine regions of France. Through this "job" I developed a love for wine and the stories that often accompany the pulling of a cork. I live in Houston with my lovely wife and two wonderful sons.

Looks like tough duty, but you’re the right person for the job!
