About the drunken cyclist

I have been an occasional cycling tour guide in Europe for the past 20 years, visiting most of the wine regions of France. Through this "job" I developed a love for wine and the stories that often accompany the pulling of a cork. I live in Houston with my lovely wife and two wonderful sons.

I don’t know anything about wine. Except that when I put ice in my pinot grigio a few years ago my brother almost went into cardiac arrest? Yikes. However, I’m here to say YAY to your picture of Lord Grantham and Carson!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOVE IT! LOL!!!

    • Yeah, the ice cube in the wine thing would cause a bunch of us to dial 911… As for Downton, I will admit that we are hooked in this house! I actually took the photo of the screen as we were watching it–geeky, no doubt….

  2. OK, I’m too lazy to look up the answers to the first 4 questions, but I know the answer to the Bonus!
At the time of Sideways, that was the Sanford Winery tasting room. I was actually in that tasting room (the only customer there) when a Hollywood location scout came in to take photos. About a year and a half later, the movie came out. The next time I went, (after the movie’s release) there were so many people I could barely squeeze into the place to get a taste.
After Richard Sanford was bought out of the Sanford Winery they moved down the road to a new, massive, stone (Napa-style) tasting room/winery. Richard started Alma Rosa Winery and still has his tasting room at the original location.

Not wine related, but I saw the Downton photo and couldn’t resist commenting. I just finished the first season on Amazon Prime and I’m loving it so far. Going to watch another episode right now!
