Well, basketball season for the boys is now over and it looks like I will have exactly three days until baseball starts. What will I do with three whole days of extra time on my hands? At least the season ended well. Sebastian’s team finished undefeated and Nathan’s team, after losing one game in overtime by a single point, won several close games on the way to the championship game. In that game they trailed by 12 points in the second half, but clawed back and took the lead with 5 seconds left, winning the game by two for the championship.
What does this have to do with the Monthly Wine Writing Challenge?
Nothing.
But I have a lot of space to fill….
Regardless, it is time to give all of you out there a reminder….
This month’s theme, chosen by last month’s winner, Loie of Cheap Wine Curious is:
The rules
- The Challenge is open to anybody and everybody. It helps if you have a blog, but that is certainly not a requirement (contact me if this is the case).
- Write a post based on this month’s theme: “Success”.
- The post should be at least tangentially related to wine (after all, it is the name of the challenge).
- The post should be more or less around 1000 words (I routinely violate this rule, so it is just there as a “guide”).
- Include the Monthly Wine Writing Challenge badge (above) that was designed by the very first winner, The Armchair Sommelier.
- Remember to vote!
- I will try and secure another outside judge for this month’s Challenge. If I succeed, the judge will choose the winner from the top three vote-getters. If I fail, the winner will be the top vote receiver.
- Once you post on your blog, please do at least two of the following and I will be sure to include a link here as well as on all subsequent posts about this month’s challenge:
- Include a link back to this post in your entry.
- Use the hashtag #MWWC15 somewhere in your post.
- Tweet, using the #MWWC15 hashtag and include a link back to your post.
- Send me an email: jeff(at)thedrunkencyclist(dot)com
- Include a link back to this post in your entry.
The all important dates:
Deadline for submission: Monday, March 9th, 2015
Voting Begins: Tuesday, March 10th, 2015
Voting Ends: Monday, March 16th, 2015
Winner Announced: Tuesday, March 17th, 2015
This morning, I finally reblogged or posted all of the entries that I have received for this month’s Challenge. Let’s just say it did not take all that long. I still have hope, however, since there are a full six whole days to increase the number of submissions–get writing folks!
I have scoured the internets and here are the entries thus far:
theWinesketcher: Success, as evasive as a great wine
The Sweet Sommelier: And the Oscar Goes To….
There remains a scant six days to get your submissions in!
So get to the keyboard and get writing!!!
This sounds like a lot of fun!

Don’t count on me this month; I’ve had no success crafting an article on success.

Sounds like the making of an article right there….

Michelle! Whaaaa? Girl, I don’t believe you. Don’t leave us hanging! Like, you can’t write 2 paragraphs about the virtues of queso and a Petit Verdot? xo

EXACTLY Loie, I mean step up to the plate even if it is a lame-ass theme (no offense, of course).

Wait, I have a “life coach voice”? If I do, you certainly should not be listening to it….
