Today, Sebastian and I hop on a plane to return to Philadelphia. We have been out here in California for almost two weeks, the first of which included my wife and older son, Nathan. They left on Easter, however, and while Sebastian stayed with his cousins and grand-parents, I took off for five days to Sonoma.
The trip has been great on many levels as it included four nights in Sonoma (and one in Napa), countless winery visits and wines tasted, just over 200 miles logged on my bike, and five medium rare hamburgers Animal Style.
So while I am sad to leave California, it does look as though the weather might have finally turned back east, which is a good thing since it snowed the day we left.
As has become somewhat of a norm on a Saturday morning, I do not have any “new” content, but I do have a several announcements.
#1: Monthly Wine Writing Challenge 16 (#MWWC16): The deadline for #MWWC16 is just over a week away: Monday, 4/20. The theme this month is “Finish” and all of the details can be found HERE.
#2: Sip and Spin. I regularly teach Spinning classes in Philadelphia and once a month I host a Spinning class followed by a wine tasting. I am not sure about the theme yet, but the date is set: April 24th (Friday night) at 7:00. Send me an email (below) if you would like to join in!
#3: Wine Dinner at Fare. This month, the theme will be Loire Valley Varieties (Pinot Noir, Cabernet Franc, Sauvignon Blanc, Chenin Blanc), which will be paired with five courses (including dessert), all for $75 (including tax and tip). The dinner is being held on Wednesday, April 29th at 7:00. If you are interested, leave me a message on my Facebook page (FB Page) or send me an email (below).
I think that is all for this weekend. I am off to try and find a way to get another 5 bottles of wine into my already over-stuffed suitcase (once again, I brought far too many clothes–when will I learn?).
