Saturday Reminders—5/23/15

This weekend I do not have a single Little League game rot attend, which means that I am likely going to attend Tae Kwon Do instead. I did not think I would ever say this, but I wish the boys had baseball this weekend…..

As has become somewhat of a norm on a Saturday morning, I do not have any “new” content, but I do have a few announcements.

wine-stain1-3#1: Monthly Wine Writing Challenge 17 (#MWWC17): There are still a couple weeks to get your entries in for the Monthly Wine Writing Challenge (deadline: June 8th—more details HERE), but there have already been five entries, which is a good start. Hopefully this will encourage the rest of you to make a bee line to your keyboard and get writing (at least that is what I keep telling myself–hopefully I will listen soon…). If you would like to check out the other entries for inspiration, they have all been posted on the MWWCBlog.

IMG_3749#2: Wine Dinner at Fare. This month, the theme will be Sparkling Wines–I have purchased most of the wine so far: a Prosecco, an Austrian Sekt, a domestic wine from New Mexico, and a champagne (still working on a dessert wine). Each of the five wines will be paired with its own course (including dessert), all for $75 (plus tax and tip). The dinner is this Wednesday, May 27th at 7:00 and there are still a few spots left. If you are interested, leave me a message on my Facebook page (FB Page) or send me an email (below).

#3: Memorial Day. I always like to have three announcements, but I am really out of interesting things to announce, so “Have a great Memorial Day!’ (which I am not sure people even say, so forgive me if that is the dumbest thing you will read today).

About the drunken cyclist

I have been an occasional cycling tour guide in Europe for the past 20 years, visiting most of the wine regions of France. Through this "job" I developed a love for wine and the stories that often accompany the pulling of a cork. I live in Houston with my lovely wife and two wonderful sons.
