As usual, I am in a bit of a rush this morning as I promised my boys that we would go fishing this weekend (I also promised my wife that I would get the night crawlers out of the refrigerator). Since tomorrow looks like the coming of Armageddon, weather-wise, we need to go today. I do not have a lot to remind you of today, so this will be brief….
#1: Purple Star Wine Dinner. Kyle Johnson, part of the superstar winemaking team at Purple Star Wines in Washington is coming to Philadelphia and will be walking us through his wines during a dinner at Fare Restaurant. The date is this Wednesday, June 24th at 7:00 and the cost is a mind-boggling $50 (plus tax and tip) for five courses and includes the wine. The dinner is limited to 15 people, so if you would like to attend, be sure to send me an email!
#2: Wine Writing Challenge 18. No news to report here—I have not heard a word from Aaron at Wayward Wine about the new theme.
#3: Little League is finally over! Thank you for all your prayers and good wishes. My long-suffering Spring nightmare is finally over. I can now ride my bike (mostly) guilt-free.
My email: jeff (at) thedrunkencyclist (dot) com
Cheers!
Best of luck today and tell us what you pair with the bounty!
