Something crazy is going on with WordPress. Below is the post I published this morning, but for some reason, WordPress “published” it on July 5th (even though I finished it this morning). So, instead of trying to figure it out, I just reblogged it here.
That will likely result in some sort of time warp, but I am going to take my chances….
Twitter is a bit of a crazy thing. I do not pretend that I have figured it out (although I do think it is a lot like middle school—trying to accumulate followers and spreading gossip via short little notes), but it can be a useful medium, particularly for wine bloggers.
Case in point: I was out in California a few months ago, visiting Passaggio Wines in downtown Sonoma, I decided to tweet a few pictures from the tasting room. Shortly thereafter, I saw the following tweet from one of my Twitter pals, Cline Cellars:

Let’s do the time warp againnnn… That’s funny about the VIP- we had those at Mumm, too. Usually someone in the industry or set up by someone in the industry- a tour and tasting private from the unwashed masses. Did you see the mission models at Cline? It’s part of one of the field trips for the kids’ school. Unfortunately, parents are discouraged from wine tasting whilst there.

Hahaha! the VIP thing… I guess that might qualify you to ask “Do you know who I am?” And as for not knowing your “real” name, I think there is something to be said for the anonymity of a nom de plume! Interesting reading.
