Monthly Wine Writing Challenge #20–The Results

The results are inIt is that time once again, time to announce the results of this month’s Monthly Wine Writing Challenge. In all this month, there were 12 eligible entries for the theme “Variety” which was supplied by last month’s winner, Frank of Frankly Wines.

I usually write something pithy, insightful, or both in this section, but the truth is I was a bit up against it this morning as my wife is out of town and my younger son’s school bus was a no-show. Thus, a good hour and a half was taken out of my day first waiting far too long for a bus that would never come and then driving the little guy across town to school. So you are going to have to imagine that this was actually worth reading….

So without any further ado…

And-the-Winner-IsJVB Uncorked: Variety: The Saving Grace to Wine

As the winner of this month’s challenge, Jim, who joins the two-time winner club, has the “honor” of choosing the topic for next month’s Challenge. He also gets to proudly sport the badge below on his site (which he doesn’t–I just checked. Boo!).

Congratulations to Jim, who is a pretty good guy (despite the lack of badge on his page), so you should go and check out JVB Uncorked!

Stay tuned for the next theme!

About the drunken cyclist

I have been an occasional cycling tour guide in Europe for the past 20 years, visiting most of the wine regions of France. Through this "job" I developed a love for wine and the stories that often accompany the pulling of a cork. I live in Houston with my lovely wife and two wonderful sons.

Thanks Anatoli & John, for the support and kind words! And Jeff, the badge is *finally* on my page. I earnestly hope JvB UnCorked might be included on the list of “They’ve Accepted the Challenge” if not on Drunken Cyclist’s blogroll ?
Lastly… we really have to get together and do a tasting, all of us! Possible?
