Well, basketball is thankfully over (Nathan’s team unfortunately lost a close game in the Championship last week. Had Nathan been there, it may have been a different outcome, but I guess we will never know.), but I have “moved” on to an entirely different level of hell. As I have mentioned many times here, we will be moving to Houston this summer. Well, for all intents and purposes, that begins today as the first round of movers are coming to clear out the house a bit so we can better “stage” our current house. Yes, we are actually paying someone to tell us how to make our home more appealing to potential buyers. If you ask me (and clearly no one has), this is a huge scam perpetuated by those who spend an insane amount of time in front of HGTV. Nonetheless, I am rolling with it because, basically, I have no choice.
So this is the first “move.” We will have a second move, the “big move” in July, and then, since our house will not be ready until October (we hope), there will be a “final move.”
Yes, the next six months (or more) will be my own little version of hell.
I am choosing to trying ignore it today with some reminders:
- The deadline for this month’s Monthly Wine Writing Challenge is Monday, the new theme is, well, “NEW” so if you have not entered yet, well, it is time to get cracking! All the details can be found HERE (the deadline is March 7th).
- The kind people at Snooth once again asked me to write a bit of a mini-column for their monthly round-up. The theme this month was “Wine Vacations” of which we have certainly had a few. I have travelled all over France (Alsace, Burgundy, Bordeaux, Champagne, Dordogne, Jura, Loire, Provence), Germany, parts of Italy, California (Napa, Sonoma, Sta. Rita Hills, Carmel), Oregon, and New York (Finger Lakes and Long Island). So which one did I chose? You can check it out here:
