Saturday Reminders—4/15/17

I am still out in California, and if everything has gone as planned, I am on a bike ride with (among others), Ken Freeman, the owner of one of my favorite Sonoma producers, Freeman Vineyard and Winery. Hopefully, I am not freezing as I brought minimal warm cycling clothes–this is California after all–but it has been down-right chilly (low 60’s) all week with intermittent rain. Ugh. I never thought I would say this, but I miss Houston weather….

So as you pray for me on my ride, here are a few reminders:

  • As some of you know, I like to ride my bike. Well, in just a few weeks I will be partaking in the BPMS150 here in Houston, riding from the Bayou City to Austin over the course of a weekend. The event raises money for the Multiple Sclerosis Society and the ride is a pretty big deal down here, apparently. If you would like to donate (and you should—I am woefully behind in my donations—if all of you simply donated just one dollar…) to support my ride, click on the graphic below. This is kind of a big deal as I am woefully short–I need a bunch of cash to reach the required amount! Be a pal….

  • The latest Monthly Wine Writing Challenge (#MWWC32) is already underway, and while there is still a bit of time before the deadline, it is never to early to start writing!  All of the pertinent information can be found HERE.

Have a Happy Saturday!

About the drunken cyclist

I have been an occasional cycling tour guide in Europe for the past 20 years, visiting most of the wine regions of France. Through this "job" I developed a love for wine and the stories that often accompany the pulling of a cork. I live in Houston with my lovely wife and two wonderful sons.

It’s been a ridiculously cold and rainy spring. Good thing you aren’t out here training for the MS ride- one of our friends is doing an across-the-country ride for MS in June and the weather hasn’t been very cooperative.
