Saturday Reminders—7/15/17

Back home this weekend and I am getting ready to go out for a ride before it gets oppressively hot here this afternoon. I thought that riding in Houston in the summer would be a non-starter but as long as I get out before 10:00, it usually is not that bad at all. Plus the 80° days in January more than make up for it (I think).

Before I go, however, here are a few reminders:

  • The Tour de France starts its third week today and it is already one of the more exciting Tours in recent memory which is probably due to the contest I am running in conjunction with Como Sur Bicicleta Wines! (No, I really do not think that, but be nice and play along.) If you have not entered already, you can  by tweeting the winner of the daily stage to Cono Sur (@ConoSurWines) and me (@masi3v) with the hashtag #TourDeBicicleta. What is at stake? Several bottles of wine and a few cycling jerseys from Como Sur Bicicleta! More info can be found HERE.
  • The latest Monthly Wine Writing Challenge (#MWWC34) is underway. The deadline is a less than ten days away, so you need to start writing! All the details can be found HERE.
  • Even though the ride to Austin is over, you can still contribute! I originally had hoped to raise $500, but as of this morning, I am hovering just under $1000. If all of you give just a few bucks, it will push me into the four digits! Every dollar counts!

Have a Happy Saturday!

About the drunken cyclist

I have been an occasional cycling tour guide in Europe for the past 20 years, visiting most of the wine regions of France. Through this "job" I developed a love for wine and the stories that often accompany the pulling of a cork. I live in Houston with my lovely wife and two wonderful sons.
