Rain, Rain, Go Away….

As many of you know, I live in Houston and we are now in Day Four of Hurricane/Tropical storm Harvey. For many here in the Bayou City, the situation is dire: all of the area’s highways are flooded and closed, many of the local streets are similarly affected, countless homes have succumbed to the deluge, and thousands and thousands of people have been displaced.

Since Saturday, I have been holed up here in our house, which, for the most part, has weathered the storm fairly well. The roof started leaking last night, but the damage has been slight. We have been very fortunate while others here in the city have not.

Should the rain relent at some point today, I hope to hop on my bike and survey the local area a bit more broadly. It is bad here folks, really bad, but we are fine. Forecasts call for the storm to eventually leave the area sometime Wednesday or even Thursday, so we are far from finished.

    Great to know you are all safe. It is horrific to see the news, I cannot even imagine what it must be like to be PART of it.

    I can only hope that the state will have all the help it needs to rebuild and recover. And that not too many lives will be lost.

    Glad you and your family are safe. I’ve been following the storm on the news. It looks like it will take sometime for Houston to recover.

    Watching the coverage. Looks really bad for your area. Hopefully the storm moves really soon. The rain sometimes is worse than the winds. Stay safe. Sending you sunny thoughts.

    Good to know you and the fam are safe Jeff! I didn’t realize how bad it was there until a friend who lives in TX posted some “perspective” in terms of the size of Houston. Mind-Blown! Stay safe!
