Saturday Reminders—9/16/17

I am here on a mountain side in Sicily, just outside of Palermo with just a few minutes before heading off to another meal where I will no doubt feel incredibly guilty as I can’t stop myself from over-indulging. I have found that there is just enough time in between meals for the guilt to subside before diving in yet again.

Before I head down to lunch, though, I have a couple of reminders for you:

  • It seems as though every week there is a new disaster and it is no doubt overwhelming to many. Hurricane Harvey seems like a decade ago, but there are still people struggling to recover. Thus, I have set up a donation page with Texas Children’s Hospital to help the families with extremely sick children whose homes have been severely damaged by the storm. 100% of the donations go directly to the families (full disclosure: my wife is the Director of the Palliative Care team at the hospital). LINK.
  • The latest Monthly Wine Writing Challenge is up and running, in fact, the deadline is merely upon us! You have another ten days–a week from this Monday to submit. All of the information can be found HERE.

Have a Safe Saturday!

About the drunken cyclist

I have been an occasional cycling tour guide in Europe for the past 20 years, visiting most of the wine regions of France. Through this "job" I developed a love for wine and the stories that often accompany the pulling of a cork. I live in Houston with my lovely wife and two wonderful sons.
