This is my first set of Reminders in a while, as I have not had much need to remind since the end of last year. Now, three months into the year 2018, I have a few points to underscore:
- We are hosting our first real Winemaker Evening since moving to Houston nearly two years ago. Robert Larsen of The Larsen Projekt and Alan Campbell of Camlow Cellars will be pouring their wines and chatting about the wonders of Sonoma County in our home a week from today. We are pretty much at our limit attendance-wise, but if you will be in Houston and are interested, let me know.
- On the 28th of March, I will be assisting with a #ConoSurWineTalk with Cono Sur Winery and a few blogger friends. It starts at 7:00 Eastern Daylight Savings time (6:00 here in Houston) and we will be chatting with Cono Sur’s winemaker, Guillermo Sanchez on the eve of harvest.
- I am in the process of organizing The Second Annual Largest Blind Tasting of American True Rosé in the World. True Rosés are pink wines that are not saignée, wines that are intentionally made to be rosé from the start. They are not a by-product of red wine production. I have already received a few wines, and others are on the way. If you would like to either submit a wine or participate in the tasting, please contact me. The date for the tasting, which will include several wines that were released last year, is April 20th (a date which some people seem to find amusing).
- Last, hopefully in a few days I will announce the next Monthly Wine Writing Challenge–with a bit of a twist this time around. Stay tuned.
Have a Safe Saturday!
