Well, two of my reminders from last week come off the board as two occurred over the last seven days. The first was our Winemaker evening with Robert Larsen of The Larsen Projekt and Alan Campbell of Camlow Cellars. I invited members of my neighborhood to the tasting, and by all accounts, it was well received. The second was my first official Twitter Chat on Wednesday night. While I have participated in countless such chats over the years, this was the first which I actually played a part in organizing. As hard as I tried, I don’t think I screwed it up. There are still a couple of reminders that represent events that have yet to occur:
- I have received several rosés for the “The Second Annual Largest Blind Tasting of American True Rosé in the World” (or something like that). True Rosés are pink wines that are not saignée, wines that are intentionally made to be rosé from the start. They are not a by-product of red wine production. I have received more than a dozen already, with several more on the way. If you would like to either submit a wine or participate in the tasting, please contact me. The date for the tasting, which will include several wines that were released last year, is April 20th (a date which some people seem to find amusing). That date, though, might need to be pushed back as I may have bitten off a bit too much this month.
- I had hoped to announce a rather significant change to the Monthly Wine Writing Challenge by this point, but I am afraid I can’t just yet. I am currently in Healdsburg for the week, then it is a trip to a real live Dude Ranch with the boys, followed by a little over a week in Tuscany and the Veneto, so I am not sure when I will be able to finalize everything, but pleased stay tuned as I am determined to make it happen!
Have a Safe Saturday!
