The heat as come to South Texas a little early this year, apparently. Since I returned from chilly Napa, California, the daytime temps have been solidly in the 90s with humidity to match. Thus, I have not been on my bike all that much, but that changes in a few minutes as I head out for a ride as I need to get into some kind of shape for late July (see the first reminder). Other than that, this weekend will involve cataloguing all the rosé I have on hand and trying to get them all cold for next weekend’s blind tasting (see the second reminder).
- I decided this week, I am going to return to my former summer “job” as I will be leading a couple of bike trips in France again this summer. The two trips: The Brittany Coast (July 29-August 4) and Northern Burgundy (August 5-11). I am working out some details including a potential discount for any of my readers who might want to come along. The riding is not difficult and I firmly believe there is no better way to see France. Send me an email (jeff (at) thedrunkencyclist (dot) com) if you would like more details.
- The number of wines for “The Largest Blind Tasting of American True Rosés Ever” has grown to over 60 with a few more on the way. True Rosés are pink wines that are not saignée, wines that are intentionally made to be rosé from the start. They are not a by-product of red wine production. Even though the total is now up to more than five dozen, if you would like to either submit a wine for the tasting, please contact me (but please do so soon as there are only one week remaining). The tasting will be June 9th.

This year’s lineup as of two weeks ago…

…then it grew to this….

…and it got crazy once I added the previous vintages.
Have a Safe Saturday!
