Sundays Are For Sebastian #221

Sebastian is my nine-year old and he says some of the funniest things–we have no idea where he gets his material since his mother and I are rather boring, serious people.

When passing idle time either standing in line, driving, waiting to be served in a restaurant, I often quiz the kids on various topics. I find it far more tolerable than the incessant phone use. On one such occasion, I was quizzing them on historical events.

Me: “What year was the Declaration of Independence signed?”

Seba (after considerable contemplation): “Year Zero?”

About the drunken cyclist

I have been an occasional cycling tour guide in Europe for the past 20 years, visiting most of the wine regions of France. Through this "job" I developed a love for wine and the stories that often accompany the pulling of a cork. I live in Houston with my lovely wife and two wonderful sons.

I think Seba may have something there, if we take “Year Zero” to suggest going back to Square One and doing a re-do on some of the bad choices in our history!
