Sundays Are For Sebastian Revisited (#80)

I am on the road once again this week, thus, as I normally do when traveling, I revisit a Sundays are for Sebastian. This one comes from almost four years ago….

Sebastian is my six-year old and he says some of the funniest things–we have no idea where he gets his material since his mother and I are rather boring, serious people.

Seba: “Will I have time after dinner to play on the computer?”

HIs mother: “No, it’s a school night—you know the rule: no screen time.”

Seba: “Well, how about some free time?”

His mother: “No, don’t you remember what happened this morning? You were mean to everyone because you were so tired when I woke you up to go to school. So, I think that you should go to bed earlier so that you are not so grumpy in the morning.”

Seba: “Bad idea! I don’t want to go to bed earlier.”

His mother: “But you need more sleep.”

Seba: “Well, duh, just wake me up later!”

His mother: “That’s not possible, you have to get to school. I think you should go to bed 20 minutes earlier.”

Seba: “20 minutes?!? Pick another number!”

His mother: “OK, how about 15?”

Seba: “14!”

His mother: “OK, 14.”

Seba: “Can we start tonight?”

About the drunken cyclist

I have been an occasional cycling tour guide in Europe for the past 20 years, visiting most of the wine regions of France. Through this "job" I developed a love for wine and the stories that often accompany the pulling of a cork. I live in Houston with my lovely wife and two wonderful sons.
