I am once again on the road this week, but heading home. I woke this morning around 5 a.m. to leave beautiful Provence and head back to Houston. Assuming I get no sleep on the plane (which is normally the case), I will be awake for 25 hours before getting home. But no need to feel sorry for me–it has been a great trip!
Today’s flashback comes from 2013 when Sebastian was five years old….
Several months ago, I started a new weekly theme: Sundays Are For Sebastian. Sebastian is my five-year-old and he says some of the funniest things–we have no idea where he gets his material since his mother and I are rather boring, serious people.
I was drinking some Champagne for ‘Champagne Day’ when Sebastian came up to me. He LOVES Champagne and asked if he could have some.
Since he has me wrapped around his little finger, I acquiesced.
Right before he took a sip he paused and asked: “What kind is it?”
I said, “Pommery.”
He smirked, thought about it, and then took a sip.
“How is it?” I asked.
“It’s OK.” And he walked away.
As he got to the base of the stairs, he added: “It’s OK … not great.”
