Saturday Reminders—10/19/19

A chilly day here in Houston, which means it is under 60°, and I am pondering a ride. It is a rather big day for couch surfing, though, as my favorite college football team has a big game today and a little thing called the World Series involves a team from here in Houston. Sebastian also has a basketball tournament today, so I will need to figure out how to squeeze everything in. Before I attack my day, here are a couple of reminders for you….

  • I will be hosting my Annual Blind Tasting of American Pinot Noirs on November 9th for wine writers here in Houston. If you would like to either attend or have a wine in the tasting, send me an email: jeff (at) thedrunkencyclist (dot) com.
  • This is the seventh year for the Secret Wino exchange. Similar to the “Secret Santa” concept where participants send a bottle of wine (or two) to another participant somewhere else in the country, while receiving wine from yet another. If you would like to participate, there is still time to enter. All the details are HEREPhoto Credit:

That’s all I have today—have a great and safe Saturday!

About the drunken cyclist

I have been an occasional cycling tour guide in Europe for the past 20 years, visiting most of the wine regions of France. Through this "job" I developed a love for wine and the stories that often accompany the pulling of a cork. I live in Houston with my lovely wife and two wonderful sons.

  1. Saw Houston went down to the 30s this morning, we hit 26 here in South Austin, but thank goodness the wind’d died down! Was really sad to see the Astros lose this one. Another really good pitcher and/or relief guy & I think they could try again. I remember watching them as the Colt 45s in the open stadium w/my dad before they became the Astros & went to the AstroDome 😊
