Sundays Are For Sebastian Revisited (#200)

I am not on the road this week, but nonetheless, I decided to re-blog a Sundays for Sebastian. Today’s comes from a little over three years ago when Sebastian was nine….

Sebastian is my nine-year old and he says some of the funniest things–we have no idea where he gets his material since his mother and I are rather boring, serious people.

About a year and a half ago, we moved from Philadelphia to Houston. Before we decided to move, though, we made several trips to the Bayou City to determine if it were indeed a move that we could actually make. On one such road trip to Houston, Sebastian asked if I wanted to play hangman.

After I assented, he paused and then drew the requisite gallows, with five blanks below.

Me: “E”

Sebastian filled in the second space.

Me: “R”

Seba drew a head.

Me: “S”

The last space was filled.

Me: “T”

Seba filled in the first space.

Me: “N”

He drew another body part.

Me: “P”

A second leg.

Me: “M”

Another arm.

Me: “Are you sure?”

After scratching his head and examining the paper, Sebastian said:

“How do you spell ‘Texas’ again?”

About the drunken cyclist

I have been an occasional cycling tour guide in Europe for the past 20 years, visiting most of the wine regions of France. Through this "job" I developed a love for wine and the stories that often accompany the pulling of a cork. I live in Houston with my lovely wife and two wonderful sons.
