Sundays Are For Sebastian #298

Sebastian our my twelve-year-old son and he says some of the funniest things–we have no idea where he gets his material since his mother and I are rather boring, serious people.

Since the beginning of the pandemic in March, I have been cooking a lot and have developed a couple of “traditions.” The first was Taco Tuesday, which both boys have wholeheartedly embraced. The second was Meatless Monday, an effort to limit our intake of meat and focus on plant-based meals.

The boys are not nearly as enthusiastic about Mondays as was evident this past weekend. I have now made several different dishes for Meatless Monday (Penne All’Arrabbiata, Pasta Primavera, black beans and rice, lentil stew, etc,) and I wanted to know if they had a preference for the upcoming meal.

Me: “What do you guys want for Meatless Monday?”

Sebastian: “Meat.”

About the drunken cyclist

I have been an occasional cycling tour guide in Europe for the past 20 years, visiting most of the wine regions of France. Through this "job" I developed a love for wine and the stories that often accompany the pulling of a cork. I live in Houston with my lovely wife and two wonderful sons.
